This post frame building has been sold to Mr. Hodeson and will be constructed on his lot in Spokane Valley using the
standard post frame building plans I have prepared for Pacific Metal Buildings, Inc. The requirement for buildings in
this area is 40 PSF live load, 110 MPH wind speed, Exposure B, Seismic Design Category C and 2,000 PSF
allowable soil bearing pressure per the 2012 International Building Code. Posts are located at 12' o. c. and the roof
has 4:12 pitch trusses.
I have reviewed the building for the diaphragm design criteria used in preparation of the standard post frame building
plans. The front endwall has no openings. There is sufficient steel sheeting on this endwall to transfer lateral loads on
the sidewall and roof to the base of the building.
The rear endwall has no openings. There is sufficient steel sheeting on this endwall to transfer lateral loads on the
walls and roof to the endwall sheeting and thence to the foundations.
The left sidewall has a 16' x 14' overhead door. The right sidewall has a 16' x 14' overhead door. Sidewall openings
do not affect the lateral load resistance of post frame buildings.
The sidewall doors require a glue lam beam to support the trusses above the doors. Use the enclosed plans for
support framing for the trusses and openings.
Standard 40 PSF post frame building plans prepared for Pacific Metal Buildings can be used for erection of all the
framing for this post frame building with the above exception.
