Gentlemen:
At the time of final inspection for permit No. N-1238, at the above
referenced address, the following items were found to be in non-compliance
with the Uniform Building Code and the Uniform Plumbing Code:
fel) The floor area in the bay window area appears to slope away from
(// the main floor of the house. This would indicate that the floor
area is not properly supported as required by the provisions of
Chapter 25 of the Uniform Building Code.
(2) Doubled 2X12 header in basement, adjacent to fireplace, appears
overspanned for loading condition, must be reinforced.
3) Garage door between house and garage is not self-closing as per
Section 503 (d) 4. of the Uniform Building Code.
( ,.4 Daylight can be seen through the roof ridge, from the attic, indi—
✓/ eating improper application of roofing materials at this point.
Uniform Building Code Section 3203 (h). covers the installation
of shake roofing. I
(5) Attic insulation is not provided in the kitchen soffit area as per
the requirements of House Bill 98.
6) Cantilevered deck joists do not extend a sufficient distance into ,1
err/( the floor framing to provide sufficient strength.
ve0.00,14) The slow draining of the kitchen sink indicates either a possibility
of drainage piping that does not comply with Uniform Plumbing Code
Section 407 regulating the grade of drainage piping or some restriction
in the drain line.
These items must be corrected without delay, in order to legalize this
building. Re-inspection must be called for within 30 days of the date of this
letter. Failure to comply with these requests will result in this matter being
referred to our statuatory legal councel for further action.
