ON PLANS NOTES FOR SEWER MAIN PROJECTS GENERAL: All sewer line construction methods and materials shall be in accordance with the Standard Specifications for Road, Bridge, and Municipal Construction as jointly promulgated by the Washington State Department of Transportation and The Washington State Chapter of the American Public Works Association, current edition, as adopted and revised by the Spokane County Utilities Department. These plans are schematic and are not intended to depict all details of the work required. The contractor shall be responsible to familiarize himself with actual site conditions and factors affecting the work. The contractor shall be responsible to coordinate with Spokane County to develop a traffic control plan and inspection requirements. The contractor shall be responsible to obtain all required permits. Pavement patching requirements shall be as determined by the Spokane County Road Department. All construction shall conform to Spokane County Standards for Road and Sewer Construction. 2. All sewer pipe shall be PVC in accordance with ASTM D 3034, SDR35, as specified in the Spokane County Standards for Road and Sewer Construction, Section 7-04.2. All sewer fittings shall be installed in accordance with standards set forth in ASTM D2321-B32. 3. TRENCH EXCAVATION AND BACKFILL: All trench excavation and backfill shall conform to W.S.D.O.T. Section 7.-08.3 (1)A. All bedding shall consist of approved bedding material placed around the pipe and backfilled as per W.S.D.O.T Section 7.-08.3 (1)C. Compaction of backfill in roadway shall be performed to meet Spokane County Engineers' requirements. Testing of collector sewers and side sewers shall be done in accordance with Spokane County Utilities Department requirements. 4. SIDE SEWERS: Each sewer service line shall be a minimum of 10 feet from side lot lines. Each sewer service line an d mainline stub shall be marked with a 2"x4" marker post extending vertically from the sewer service or mainline stub invert to a minimum of 24" above finished grade. Each 2"x4" marker post shall have a 6 gauge galvanized wire securely attached for its entire length and shall be clearly marked showing the 2"x4" length in feet at the exposed end. 5. Side sewer shall have a positive grade of at least 0.020 ft./ft. from the sewer main. All services shall be Type 'A' unless otherwise specified. The contractor shall maintain separation of 10 feet horizontally and 18 inches vertically from all water mains and services. All service lines shall be extended 5 feet minimum beyond the back of sidewalk. 6. Manholes shall be installed per plan U-1 of the Spokane County Standards for Road and Sewer Construction. 7. Contractor shall maintain a minimum cover of 3.5 feet over all mains and services 8. AS-BUILTS: Certified reproducible as built drawings are to be submitted to and approved by the County Utilities Department at the completion of construction. 2 horizontal ties and 1 vertical tie shall be shown on ..:1-builts for all side sewer services, main line stubs, and cleanouts. Stubs that are not constructed perpendicular to sewer main will need a station on the tee and a station and offset from sewer main tc end cap shown on as-builts. Stations shall be from downstream monhole and measured on main sewer line. Any bends in service line need to be as-built with 2 horizontal swing ties to permanent surface features. The contractor shall maintain red line mark-ups of any changes to these plans. 9. TESTING AND ACCEPTANCE: The low pressure air test method shall be used. All lines shall be cleaned and TV inspected prior to acceptance by Spokane County. 10. All sewer construction inspection, record drawings, and engineers statements shall conform to the requirements set forth in the Spokane County policy adopted September 22nd 1998 Via resolution 98-0771.
