Jefferson Street Spokane, Washington 99260 Attn: Mr. Kenneth Jeffrey Mr. Thomas Postlewait Re: Proposed Office & Bakery Addition located at E. 5914Broadway, Spokane, Washington Dear Ken & Tom: In response to your letter dated February 22, 1982, I have prepared the following list which addresses your comments on the Item-by-Item basis. This letter will become part of the Construction Documents and should be referred to as Addendum No. 1 to be attached with plans. 1. REPLY: Dining Room No. 102 shall have a sign posted 4' -O+ east of Door No. 101. This sign will indicate "A seating capacity of 50 maximum; and the letters will not be less than 1" high on a contrasting background. 2. REPLY: Our calculations indicate the max. overall diagonal to be 75'-O, 1/2 then to be 37' -6. The actual finished dimension is 36' -0. Therefore separation distance is short by 1'-6"+. Telephone conversation with Mr. Jim Manson on Feb. 23, 1982 that this could be acceptable. Stairway 107 shall be 1 hr. rated. 3. REPLY: Exception No. 3. Glass Lights protected by guardrail or handrail were discussed with Mr. Manson on Feb. 23, 1982 and we will provide guardrails inter- ior & exterior as required @ 40" up from floor level . 4. REPLY: See attached sheet completed Door Types & Schedule. 5. REPLY: Stair Rise is 6.5" and the stair run is 10.0". c f;k tby 6. REPLY: The main stairway and landing are 3'-3 wide, ( erons). � I27z 9. REPLY: The ramp slope will not exceed one (1) vertical to twenty (20) . -L1p 10. REPLY: All exits, stairwells, and corridors for exit shall be illuminated as night lights (24 hrs) optional . Exit signs will be placed as per UBC Sect.3312(b). 11. REPLY: Dry Storage Room 108 shall be one-hour fire protected as per UBC Sect.3305(m). 12. REPLY: Door No. 106, as per Door Types & Schedule (Attached) shall be a locked door going from Room 107 to 106, therefore constituting a dead end but not exceeding 20 feet. This door No. 106, the walls & ceiling shall be one-hour rated. Garbage area will be closed and signed as such. 13. REPLY: All doors in question shall follow this section. See Item No. 4 this letter for Door Types & Schedule. 14. REPLY: The Mechanical Contractor shall comply with UBC Sect. 605 - to supply 5 C.F./min outside air & 15 C.F./min. minimum circulated/occupant. Page 2 Mr. Jeffrey Mr. Postlewait February 24, 1982 15. REPLY: Detail A-3 showing ceiling exhaust fans shall comply to Section 705. 16. REPLY: Truss diagrams were submitted under permit No. 81-A 9986 and are typical throughout construction. This is stated on Sheet 1 of plans submittal for second permit. 17. REPLY: The submitted drawings shall be amended by the reply of this letter to read as per requirements of Section 1-711. 18. REPLY: Being that this main floor is a restaurant, all occupants within structure will have access to water supplied by cup or glass. 19. REPLY: This Section has been followed and separation occurs at each 14' -0 structural support line. Maximum area would be about 500 square feet. 20. REPLY: Fireblocking shall be placed as per Section 2517 (f). 21. Y: The newly added 14' bay is typical to structural Details and Submit- a mor Permit No. 81 A-9986. 22. New footings are 3' -0 below Grade on undisturbed soil as per General Notes, Foundation, under Permit No. 81-9986. 24. REPLY: Table 25-P shall be followed and as submitted under Permit No. 81-9986. 25. REPLY: Table 47-G shall be followed, 1/2" or 5/8" on 16" studs typical - nailing 7" center to center. 26. REPLY: Section 404 (a) Washington State Energy Code shall be followed by Installing Contractor 27. REPLY: Section 3205(a) shall apply and be located in Room No. 202. 28. REPLY: 70'x32'=2,240 s.f. 150 = 14.93 15 s.f. For cross ventilation, 7.5 s.f. shall be located at west & east ends. These protected against entrance of rain or snow. This would comply with Section 3205(c). 29. REPLY: Interior material finishes shall comply with Section 4209(a). 30. REPLY: Sheet A-1 for Permit No. 81-9986 - Snow 30 PSF, Floor 50 PSF, Wind 20 PSF. 31. REPLY: Duct work is insulated and contractor required to follow UMC Chapter 10, and Washington State Energy Code. 32. REPLY: The Contractor shall be informed that he shall comply with UMC Sect. 710. 33. REPLY: The Contractor shall be informed that he shall comply with UPC Sect. 506. 34. REPLY: The Contractor shall be informed that he shall comply with UPC Table 7-1. 35. REPLY: This Section shall be followed as required.
