The following is the title and summary of Ordinance No. 16-018 passed by the Spokane Valley City Council
on the 13th day of December, 2016:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SPOKANE VALLEY, SPOKANE COUNTY WASHINGTON,
REPEALING THE EXISTING CITY OF SPOKANE VALLEY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN;
REPEALING TITLES 17 AND 19, INCLUDING THE ZONING MAP, OF THE SPOKANE VALLEY
MUNICIPAL CODE, CHAPTERS 21.20, 21.40, 22.50, AND 22.70 OF THE SPOKANE VALLEY
MUNICIPAL CODE, AND APPENDIX A OF THE SPOKANE VALLEY MUNICIPAL CODE;
ADOPTING THE CITY OF SPOKANE VALLEY 2016 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN UPDATE;
ADOPTING UPDATED TITLES 17 AND 19, INCLUDING THE ZONING MAP, OF THE SPOKANE
VALLEY MUNICIPAL CODE, CHAPTERS 21.20, 21.40, 22.50, AND 22.70 OF THE SPOKANE
VALLEY MUNICIPAL CODE,AND APPENDIX A OF THE SPOKANE VALLEY MUNICIPAL CODE
AS REQUIRED FOR ITS 2016 UPDATE PURSUANT TO THE GROWTH MANAGEMENT ACT;
AMENDING SPOKANE VALLEY MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION 22.130.040 AS PART OF THE
SAME;AND PROVIDING FOR OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATING THERETO.
Section 1 explains that the purpose of this ordinance is to adopt the Comprehensive Plan Update and
Development Regulation Amendments as required by the GMA. Section 2 incorporates this Ordinance's
recitals as Findings, as well as additional specific Findings. Section 3 repeals the existing Comprehensive
Plan. Section 4 adopts the Ordinance's Attachment A,which is the Comprehensive Plan Update. Section
5 repeals Title 17 and 19, including the Zoning Map,and chapters 21.20,21.40,22.50,22,70 and Appendix
A of the Spokane Valley Municipal Code. Section 6 adopts updated Titles 17, 19, the Zoning Map, and
chapters 21.20, 21.40, 22.50, 22.70, and Appendix A of the Spokane Valley Municipal Code. Section 7
amends SVMC 22.130.040 and chapter 9 of the Street Standards. Section 8 speaks to severability, and
Section 9 calls for an effective date.
