ASBURY TOURIST COU'RT -
Rhr. Havrle,y: This is the public hearing on the application of D. J. Asbury for
a Special Permit to construct and operate a tourist court, with a residence in
the re ar, at a Iocation just west of Conklin Road, south o£ Valleyway in t he
16200 Bloak on East Sprague. It is to be built o£ frame and stucco at a cost
of approximately $10,000.00, with conerete foundation and the dimensions being
25 x 16, with 6 units and 3 rooms in each unit. All the posting and advertising
has been accoinplished and 36 owners of adjacent properties were notified by
mail of the time and place of the hearing. Mr. Excell, of the County Health Unit,
. has exatha.ned and approved the pro ject. The following people telephoned to pro-
test the granting of the perrnit. ltRrs. Conrad Hartung, rdrs. Alfred Boyington,
► NIrs. Burr Allen, Mrs. A. B. Frindle. They protest because the lot is to narrow.
ItZr. Meenach : What is the s ize of your lot?
Mr. Asbury: I have 64 x 650, with the 64' as frontage.
Pnr. Meonach : Do you have your plans here?
Mr. Asbur,y: Yes. These are the lots on this side and here is the driveway here.
kShows plans and location. )
Mr. Meenach: vJhat is joining on the vrest?
Mr. Asbury: A residsnce.
Plr. tvieenach: How close is it?
D1ir. Asbury: Their residence is about 4 or 5 feet from their line.
Mr. Meenach: Do you live there?
Mr. Asbury: S will 1ive in one of the unitso
Mr. TAeenach: How many units will you have?
Mr. Asbar,yr: Six units and my home. The units are 16 x 18 besides the garages.
There ivill be 245' of buildings there.
iVir. Meenach: Is this area zoned, Mr. Hawley?
~lr. Haw1E,y: Yes, it is in an established Agricultural Zone District. Tha.s is
urhy he hes to have a Special Permit.
Mr. Rohwer: These people who phoned, do they live right next to you?
Mr. Haurle,y: Itm not sure if thE,y do, they just phoned, not stating any address.
Mr. lAeenach: Is thera anyone nresent who is in favor besides Mir. Asbury9 .Anyone
to protest?
Mr. Hartung: Yes, our property is to the west. He has a small place there. It
will be too close to the rest of our homes. There «rould be a great danger of
f ire.
Mr. Meenach: How muoh frontage do you have?
Mr. Asbur,y: I havv 641 f rorrtage.
Mr. Meenach: Is there tanyons elso to protest this application? Now is the timeo
IUIr. Stankie : I live next to this property, just east of this man. I built a home
there, and j don't think this is a very good th ing to have right next to a home.
Mr. Meenech : HOb'1 long have you been there'
iAr. Stanke : fihree yoars.
Mr. Tleonach: How c1osQ is your home to this land?
Mr. Stanke: About 25' from the side of m,y home. Just the driveway is all that
is betwQen us.
Mrs. Hartung: We have built quite a few homes out in the Vallay. When something
like this comvs up, people will be coming and going at all times of the night•
We won't be able to have any rest at a,ll. A type of business like this is not
nee de d in our b ack ,yard.
Mr. 1.1eenach: V'te :oJant to know how the peoplo feel about it. Anyone else to spe&k?
' Mrs. Allen: I live just west of Mrs. HFrtung. Pqrs. Hartung is my daughter. I
