The existing site is east of Sullivan Road between existing Euclid Avenue and Marietta Avenue. This report is an adclition to our September 24, 1990 drainage report, and pertains to the new development located north, east and west of the existing facility. ' The parking areas, clriveways, and a majority of the lawns for this portion, will be drained by overland flow to new grass percolation areas as d.iscussed in the following pages. Soils: In accordance with "Soil Survev, Spokane Countv, WashinQ►ton, 1968" the soil is identified and categorized as: GgA - Garrison gravelly loam, classified as gravelly, medium textures, somewhat excessively drained soils formed in gravelly glacial deposits. GnB - Garrison very stony loam, classified as gravelly, medium textures, somewhat excessively drained soils formed in gravelly glacial deposits. These soils are Type "B" soils as classified in the "Guidelines for Stormwater Management". Topp~raphic Data: The existing site slopES to the north at about a 2% raw overall grade. The proposed site drainage now flows within parking lot areas to 208 swales and witl1in land.scape areas to drywells. Demoerraphic Data: - The proposed site as it exists presently is landscaped and parking area. The purposed and future, new parking area will provide approximately 374 spaces. Rainfall Data: Data used is in accordance with Figure 2, page 6-3 of the "Guidelines for Stormwater Management", by Spokane Counl;y Engineers. A 10 year return frequency event is used since the basins are contained within the site. Drainage Report - Itron Facility October 23, 1990 - Page 1 'I'aylor Engineering, Inc. Civil Design and Land Plarming W. 106 Mission Ave • Spokane, WA 99201 0 (509) 328-3371 FAX (569) 328-8224 Methods of Runoff Control: . Runoff control of the new development is by overland flow into new grassed , percolation areas with overflow into drywells. Landscape areas will be dra.ined into drywells without "208" swales. Grass percolation areas are anticipated to be sodded for erosion control following construction. Methods of Disposal: Disposal will be by single or double depth drywells. They shall be Spokane County Standard Type "A" and "B", as called out on the plans with standard grates. Inlet capacity calculations are shown on sheet 22. 'Peak Flowt Volume, and Disposal Calculation: a. Hydrology Computations: The grassed percolation "208" areas were sized to accommodate 1/2-inch of runofr from all irnpervious and pervious surfaces within the site. The impervious surfaces accounted for included the proposed new parking areas. The site was divided into 8 basins, "G" through "N", basins "A" through "F" were used for our September 24, 1990 report. Drywells were sized to hanclle the total runoff flow in their respective basins. Basin "]3" from our previous report was enlarged to accommodate additional flow from this phase. In adclition, to complete final drainage for all proposed _ future construction, runoff from proposed roofs was calculated and should be incorporated into their design. The Bowstring method was used to analyze the runoff in determining numbers and size of drywells. See calculations on sheets 4 through 21. The roofing for the new manufacturing building is anticipated to be synthetic material resulting in drainage routing directly to drywell. Calculations are shown on sheets 22 through 24. b. Inlet Capacities: A spokane County Standard gratie will be used of all drywells. Inlet capacities are calculated to be 1.6 CFS for a flow depth of .2 feet. See calculations on sheet 25. Portions of the parking areas will be installed with Spokane County Standard Type "A" curbs. A 2.5' curb cut will be required at the low points. Calculations are shown on sheet 20. The existing site is east of Sullivan R.oad between existing Euclid Avenue and Marietta Avenue. 7'his report is an adclition to our September 24, 1990 drainage report, and pertains to the new development located north, east and westi of the existing facility. ' The parking areas, driveways, and a majority of the lawns for this portion, will be drained by overland flow to new grass percolation areas as discussed in the following pages. Soils: In accordance with "Soil Survev, Spokane Countv, Washinaton, 1968" the soil is identified and categorized as: GgA - Garrison gravelly loam, classified as gravelly, medium textures, , somewhat excessively clrained soils formed in gravelly glacial deposits. GnI3 - Garrison very stony loam, classified as gravelly, medium textures, somewhat excessively drained soils formed in gravelly glacial deposits. These soils are Type "B" soils as classified in the "Guidelines for Stormwater Management". Top2graphic Data: . The existing site slopes to the north at about a 2% raw overall grade. The pro-)osed site drainage now flows within parking lot areas to 208 swales and wit lin landscape areas to drywells. DemoEraphic Data: The proposed site as it Exists presently is landscaped and parking area. The purposed and future, new paxking area will provide approximately 374 spaces. Rainfall Data: Data used is in accordance with Figure 2, page 6-3 of the "Guidelines for Stormwater Management", by Spokane County Engineers. A 10 year return frequency event is used since the basins are contained within the site. Drainage Report - Itron Facility October 23, 1990 Page 1 Uty1or Engineering, Inc. Civil Desip and Land Plaruling W. 106 Mission Ave. • Spokane, WA 99201 0 (509) 328-3371 FAX (509) 328-8224 Methods of Runoff Control: Runoff control of the new development is by overland flow into new grassed percolation areas witih overflow into dxywells. Landscape areas will be drained into drywells without "208" swales. Grass percolation areas are anticipated to be sodded for erosion control following construction. Methods of Disposal: Disposal will be by single or double depth drywells. They shall be Spokane County Standard Type "A" and "B", as called out on the plans with standard grates. Inlet capacity calculations are shown on sheet 22. , Peak Flow, Volume, and Disposal Calculation: a. Hydrology Computations: The grassed percolation "208" areas were sized to accommodate 1l2-inch of runoff from all impervious and pervious surfaces within the site. The impervious surfaces accounted for included the proposed new parking areas. 'I'he site was divided into 8 basins, "G" through "N", basins "A" through "F" were used for our September 24, 1990 report. Drywells were sized to handle the total runoff flow in their respective basins. Basiri "B" from our previous report was enlarged to accommodate additional flow from this phase. In addition, to complete final drainage for all proposed future construction, runoff from proposed roofs was calculated and should be incorporated into their design. The Bowstring method was used to analyze the runoi'f in detiermining numbers and size of drywells. See calculations on sheets 4 ttirough 21. 7'he roofing for the new manufacturing building is anticipated to be synthetic rnaterial resulting in drainage routing directly to drywell. Calculations are shown on sheets 22 through 24. . b. Inleti Capacities: A spokane County Standard grate will be used of all drywells. Inlet capacities are calculated to be 1.6 CFS for aflow depth of .2 feet. See calculations on sheet 25. Portions oF the parking areas will be installed with Spokane County Standard Type "A" curbs. A 2.5' curb cut will be required at the low points. Calculations are shown on sheet 20. Drainage Report - Itron Facility October 23, 1990 Page 2 ~or Engineering, Inc.
