Gentlemen: Enclosed is the Itron Site Drainage including a grading plan and calculations for the on-site grass percolation areas, drainage basins, off-site runoff, and inlet requirements. Procedures used are as outlined in the "Guidelines for Stormwater Management published by Spokane County Engineers with corrections as of 4-15-86. Our draina e plan is for the new parking lot only. However, the grass percolation areas and ywell capacities handle all runoff from the expanded parking lots at full completion. Our schedule is to completie these parking areas by November 1st, in order to begin construction on the buil.ding facility. These plans are currently under bicl. The existing site is east of Sullivan R,oad between existing Euclid Avenue and Marietta Avenue. This report pertains to the new parking areas which are located south of the existin facility. The new office facilities are currently in the design Process and wi be submitted for approval upon completion. The paxking areas, driveways, and lawns for this portion, will be drained by overland flow to new grass percolation areas as discussed in the following pages. Soila: In accordance with Soil Survev, Snokane Countv Washin2ton, 1968 the soil is identified and categorized as: GgA - Garrison gravelly loam, classified as gravelly, rnedium textured, somewhat excessively drained soils formed in gravelly glacial deposits. GnB - Garrison Very Stony loam, classified as gravelly, med.ium textured, somewhat excessively dra.ined soils formed in gravelly glacial deposits. These soils are Type "B" soils as classified in the "Guidelines for Stormwater Management". Topp~avhic Data: The existing site slopes to the north at about a 2% raw overall grade. A 3' to 4' ridge is located along the north portion of the new parking area. The proposed site drainage now flows overland to low lying areas located around the perimeter of the proposed new parking areas. Demoerraphic Data: The proposed site as it exists presently is unpopulated. The proposed and future, new parking area will provide approximately 645 spaces. Rainfall Data: Data used is in accordance with FigLire 2, page 6-3 of the "Guidelines for StormwatEr Management", by Spokane County Engineers. A 10 year return frequency event is used since the basins are contained within the site. Methods of Runoff Control: R,unoff control of the new development is by overland flow into new grassed _ percolation areas with overflow into drywells. Grass percolation areas are , anticipated to be sodded for erosion control in the spring of 1991. Page 1 Ta34or Engineering, Inc. They shall be Spokane County Standard 'I'ype "A" and "B", as called out on the plans with standard grates. Inlet capacity calculations are shown on sheet 18. Peak Flow, Volume, and Disposal Calculation: a. Hydrology Computations: The grassed percolation (208) areas were sized to accommodate 1/2-inch of runoff from all impervious and pervious surfaces within the site. The impervious surfaces accounted for included the proposed new parking area and future parking area. The site was d.ivided into 6 basins, "A" through "F". Drywells were sized to handle the total runoff flow in their respective basins. The Bowstring method was used to analyze the runoff in determining numbers and size of drywells. See calculations on sheets 4 through 15. b. Inlet Capacities: A Spokane County Standard grate will be used for a11 drywells. Inlet capacities are calculated to be 1.6 CFS for a flow depth of .2 feet. See calculations on sheet 18. Fortions of the parking areas will be installed with Spokane County Standard Type "A" curbs. A 2.5 curb cut will be required at the low points. Calculations are shown on sheet 16. c. Detention/Retention Storage Capacities: Grass percolation areas were calculated to hold the first 1/2-inch of runoff generated by all the impervious surfaces within the slte limits. In all cases the area provided will be larger than required.
