As you know, it has been the policy of the Planning Department to recognize building
permits and segregations (which were received prior to March 13, 1978) as being exempt
from laws adopted after the issuance of said permits. The Planning Department has
reviewed Building Permits #5119 and 5120 and has found pursuant to Chapter 58.17 R.C.W.
these parcels to be compatible in size to those established in the area . If the Building
Codes Department does "renew" the permits, we request the applicant meet with the
Engineers Department to discuss the need for additional right of way dedication. If
"new" permits are to be issued the applicant may be required to replat the property.
