So, I am sending my response to all of you. The timing of the notice of public comment that spanned the holiday and included many days of closed public offices made it difficult to reach the parties involved for clarification. Our property address is 12906 E 40th Avenue, Parcel # 45343.9057. Our property is located on the south AND north side of 40th Avenue. Here are some brief comments I would like to be entered into the conversation: 1. Our property is located on the south AND north side of 40th Avenue, and the west entrance to said gravel pit crosses our property. We have not been contacted about this at all. 2. Our water well and our neighbors’ are located very close to this gravel pit, and any injection of waste water will impact and ruin our water supply. Do the developers plan on connecting us to a public water supply in conjunction with this project and covering that cost? 3. The timing of this notification is quite curious and frankly speaks poorly to the integrity of the parties involved. My husband happened to meet up with the Whipple Consulting Engineers employee who was posting the sign on the gravel pit fence in the dark on the evening of December 19, 2016. Letters were not received by interested parties until 3 days later. “Fourteen calendar days for comment” over the Christmas and New Year’s holidays seems to insure that fewer people will be in residence to reply to the notification. The fourteenth day happens to be January 2, 2017, which to my knowledge is an observed county/federal holiday. 4. Is the Washington State Department of Ecology a partner in this correspondence? 5. Are FEMA and the EPA partners in this project? As residents of this area, my husband and I have a vital interest in the outcome of this project as it can directly impact water delivery and quality to our home into perpetuity. Please forward my comments to the people who are in charge of making these decisions. Regards, Betty Brandle This email is intended only for the persons named in the message header.
