The driveway to aad from the truck scales will be paved with 6" of
concrete so all truck traffic will be on the paved surface.
See the attached drawing of the original plans approved in 1971.
Approved access is off of Thierman Street. Currently access is off
of the egtension of the aved but undedicated Desmet Sreet. In
the unlikely chance that is street were to become unava~.lable,
the original access off Thierman Street can be used providing legal
access to the property.

7, The request for height in excess of 40 feet is not a request far a graniing of a special
privilege. Existing taller strucunes in the am are very simi, tar in nature to the request of the
applicant
8. It does not appear to be dhe intent of the Zaning (}rdinance to pxohibit sila or iank
type structures to be limited t0 40 feet in heighL Rather, the 44 fea height hnnitation appears to
a.ddress the btllc or shape af large buildings.
9 Z'he pmaposed unks are shown by the infornnadan cantai.ned in the file aand
presented in the hearing to hsve sevaal favarable enviranmental imga,cm 'I`he taller tovers

the material lis handled only anoe. ,
10. The locatian, gene;raHy near speciai tauks and silos taller than 40 feet, so= as high
as 154 feet, places th3s in a special location xn which a deviation from height xoqeiirement daes
nat burden adjacent properrties.
11. ne strict applicativn of the standard in the ,?oning Code creates an unreasonable
burden in light of any Purpose to be served by the C.ode. Gtanting this deviativn will nat be a
cozxu~aon invitation to umks and silos in excess of 44 feec throughaut the County; but, may
support other applicatians in areas whe7e there are tanks and silvs existing.
12. in the appraximaceiy 20 years sa.nce the exasting unks were insWued, a-uck trwspoart
regulations allow larger and langes trucks, requin'mg longer scale and irrviting a larger tank/si1o
far the staring of vff-Ivaded ce=uL
13. The existing silos and tanks in the area are lawful non-canforming.
,
14. The applicani has been made aware af dYe recommendatiaas of various County
agencies xeviewing this praject ard has inchcated those recammendations are acceprabl.e.
15. Thc praper legal requir=ents for advertising of the hearing before the ?.oning

17 V'anaus pexfornmce standards aad csiteria are additionally► needed to make the usc
