THIS PERMIT is granted upon the express condition that the building or land use for which the permit is issued shall conform in all respects to all the ordinances of the County of
- Spokane, regulating the construction, use and occupancy of buildings in Spokane County, and may be revoked at any time upon the violation of any of the provisions of said ordinances, or
failure ofplans as approved, to comply with said ordinances.
In consideration of the issuance of the permit for the erection of signs the grantee must place the said signs where directed by County Officials and shall remove the sald sign at th

Dear Sir:
It has been the policy of the Spokane County Building Codes to accept
the Bowman Truss designs which are on file in our department with a minimum
of question. Special trusses require a more careful review.
U.B.C. Section 301 (d) requires that computations, stress diagrams and
other data sufficient to show the correctness of plans, shall be submitted
when required by the Building Official. Clarification is needed of the
following code requirements: Members subject to both flexure and axial
compression or tension shall meet the requirements of U.B.C. Section 2508,
web members subject to compression shall meet the requirements of U.B.C.
Section 2507 and allowable .stresses in .wood members shall be per U.B.C.. .
Section 2504.
The truss which has been submitted does not indicate any need for web
bracing. The spans are longer than some of the standard Fink trusses in our
catalogue. The trusses at three addresses, N. 4307 Raymond Road, E. 10420
Upriver Drive and E. 11405 37th. Avenue have been questioned.
The trusses at E. 11405 37th. Avenue apparently required remedial
scabbing on the chords. The plans were never submitted to our department.
We would appreciate that the noted design be substantiated per Section
301 (d) without delay.
