Spokane County Engineers 1026 West Broadway Avenue Spokane, WA 99260-0240 PROJECT: East Valley Middle School and Mountain View Middle School PROJECT NO: 9209 - 1 Ba Dear Mr. Turner: We are in receipt of your plan review comments of September 8, 1993, for the subject projects. As we discussed, with the existence of all the adjacent grassed play-fields at both projects, we are intending to provide site drainage from the new asphalt areas onto the existing grass areas. As we discussed, if the grass area is of sufficient size to accommodate 2" of runoff, then a"208" swale and drywell would not be required. Please find attached calculations indicating the required grassy areas. Also attached are revised grading plans. We have received from the Contractor the existing grades of the adjacent play-fields and bave indicated the areas of grass for percolation. The run-off from the roof areas is not included in the calculations because the roofing is a non-asphaltic single ply membrane. This roof run-off is directerl to site drywells. If you have any questions regarding this submittal please let me know. Thank you. Sincerely, ~r~~/~ ~C)4e~) 7M_ Steve Durante, AIA enc.
