MICHAEL HUFFMAN being first duly sworn on oath deposes and says that he is the EDITOR of the Spokane Valley News
Herald, a weekly newspaper. That said newspaper is a legal newspaper and it is now and has been for more than six months prior
to the date of publication hereinafter referred to, published in the English language continually as a weekly newspaper in Spokane
County, Washington, and it is now and during all of said time was printed in an office maintained at the aforesaid place of
publication of said newspaper, which said newspaper had been approved as a legal newspaper by order of the Superior Court of
the State of Washington in and for Spokane County. That the following is a true copy of a Legal Notice as it was published in
regular issues commencing on the 19th day of January, 2018, and ending on the 19th day of January, 2018, all dates inclusive,

Description of Proposal: A Shoreline
'Substantial Development Permit to repair
portions of the Centennial Trail that were
damaged during severe winter storms.
The repair will occur et three sites and will
include the removal and replacement of
asphalt; the removal and replacement of
crushed stone top course; the excavation
and removal of unstable soils; the replace-
ment of side slope embankment with quarry
spalls, quarry rock, and rip rap; and the
installation of an 18 -inch culvert.

project. Further, any person may request a
copy of the decision for the proposal once
made. Pursuant to Chapter 17.90 (Appeals)
of the City of Spokane Valley Municipal
Code (SVMC), awritten appeal of the deci-
sion shall be filed with the City of Spokane
Valley within fourteen (14) calendar days
after the date the notice of the decision
is mailed. Standing to appeal a decision
shall be determined in accordance with the
provisions of Chapter 17.90.030 (Standing)
of the SVMC.

the south side of the Spokane River adja-
cent to the shoreline between Flora Road
and Barker Road; further located in the
southwest quarter of Section 7. Township 25
North. Range 45 East Willamette Meridian,
Spokane County Washington.

Existing Zoning: Parks/Open
Space (P/OS)
Other Permits: City of Spokane Valley Land
Disturbance (Grading), and Construction
Permits; Floodplain Development Permit,
and other permitsas determined may be

be determined.
Environmental Review: An Environmental
review was completed for the project by
Washington State Parks and Recreation
Commission and a Determination of Non -
Significance (DNS) was issued
December 11, 2017.

ation Commission.
Applicable development regulations:
SVMC Title 21 (Environmental Controls),
SVMC 21.50 (Shoreline Master Program),

primary development regulations applicable
to the site.

Type II permit and will not be subject to
a public hearing. This may be your only
opportunity to comment on the impacts of
