'CTURAL NOTES:
Generals Verify dimensions on site. Use details marked typical whenever applicable.
Changes, omissions, or substitutions are not permitted without approval of the designer.
This project shall cotton to the provisions of the 1982 edition of the Uniform
Building Code (U.B.C.)

Foundations Assumed allowable soil bearing pressure - 2000 psf. Bottom of all footings
shall bear upon natural, inorganic, undisturbed soil 1'0" min. below existing grade.
?xtend all exterior footings 310" below finished grade. Contractor shall provide
temporary shoring to prevent movement of walls if backfill is placed before floor system
is in place. There shall be 95% compaction AASHO modified of all backfill soil under
slabs or grade. 'No' footings shall:bear upon higher than a 1 vertical to 1.5 horizontal
slope above any excavation, existing or planned. Elevations shown on the foundation
plan are assumed elevations of tops of footings and may vary due to site conditions.
Concretes Attain a minimum compressive strength of 2000 psi at 28 days, with a minimum
of 5 sacks of cement per cubic yard of concrete. Allowable slump; 3" for slabs and
footings, 4" for walls, columns and beans. Air entrain all concrete ;ti+-5%. Protect
and cure concrete during the first 7-day period. Cover forms and concrete, keep cont-
inuously wet. Provide protection from wind, sun. heat or cold during curing period.
itsinforcinR Steels Deformed bars conforming to ASTM A615, grade 40. Securely tie in
place with double annealed 16 ga. iron wire or approved clips. Support reinforcing bars
in slabs on well cured concrete blocks or metal chairs. Provide reinforcing bars with
clear embedment as follows, concrete against soil = 3", formed concrete against soil -
2"palls, columns and beams exposed to weather - 2", walls, columns and beams not exposed
to weather - 1+", slabs on grade - 2". -
