Dear Mr. Ragon:
Several years ago a two story hcuse was moved to
920 North Ella in the Spokane Valley and was for all
intents and purposes abandoned.. I say this as the house
has not been occupied nor improved, but rather left
standing on the blocks with which it was transported..
A large hole, excavation, was left by the north side cf
it — it also left untouched as it was dug.
As the years went by with no sign cf life or intent of
purpose shown by the owner the house has deteriorated
greatly by the weather elements. The inner supporting
walls have broken down, plaster walls and windows have
been kicked cut by unknown person or persons. Any
damage presumably caused by human hands is most under—
standable as the house appeared to be abandoned and no..._
signs of "no trespassing„ or "keep off" were posted within
visible sight. The house is in such a:_state of deteriora—
tion that to rebuild would be prohibitive costwise.
This is a most untolerable situation as it is located
in a neighborhood abounding in small children who most
inquisitively rummage around the old "wreck". Why there
has not been a serious accident is most remarkable; a
miracle one could say. With the advent of warm weather
soon to be upon us, even though they have been warned to
stay away from it, children being children will be
clambering inside it being the attractive nuisance that
it is. Apart from the fact that it is definitely a child

hazard, it is a terrible detriment to the appearance
of the neighborhood where most of the residents take
reasonable pride in maintaining a good appearance..
I hopefully submit this request that this deplorable
situation can be acted upon in the near future.
Yours trul ,
Mrs. H. M. Busch
