The Com- mission studies and makes recommenda- tions to the City Council for future planned growth as directed by the City Council. Oualilications include having an interest in planning, land use, transportation, capital in- frastructure, and building and landscape de- sign as evidenced by training, experience, or interest in the City of Spokane Valley. Commission members are nominated by the Mayor and confirmed by a majority vote of at least four members of 'the City Council. The appointments are tentatively scheduled to be made at a February council meeting. Members are selected without respect to political affiliations and serve without com- pensation. Members must reside within the city limits o1 Spokane Valley. The Commission generally meets at 6:00 p.m. on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays.
