SUBJECT: 24' X 24' X 8' OPEN POST FRAME BUILDING FOR MOELLER PROJECT, 807 S. COLLINS ROAD,
SPOKANE VALLEY, WA
Dear Rob:
This post frame building has been sold to Mr. Moeller for construction on his lot in City of Spokane Valley using the
standard post frame building plans I have provided Ginno Construction Co. The required load for this building is 30
PSF roof live (snow) load, 110 MPH wind speed, Exposure B, Seismic Design Category C and 2,000 PSF allowable
soil bearing pressure per the 2009 International Building Code. Posts are spaced @ 12'0" o. c. and the building has a
4:12 roof pitch trusses. The building is fully open.
The standard plans do not address open buildings or non -constrained post footings. I have designed this building
and detail the structural elements below:
• Roof trusses — Use two 24' span manufactured roof trusses for all interior truss crossings and single gable
end trusses. Trusses shall be designed and certified by the truss manufacturer.
• Roof purlins — Use 2" x 8" DF-L #2 purlins at 24" o. c. Hang the purlins with standard joist hangers.
• Sidewall posts — Use 6" x 6" Hem -Fir #2 treated posts embedded in 22' diameter x 3'0" deep concrete
footings.
• Corner posts — use 6" x 6" Hem -fir #2 treated posts embedded in 20" diameter x 3'0" deep concrete footings.
• Framing and connections — Use the standard 30 PSF post frame building plans for all framing and
connection details.
