Subject: Dusk Ct S 2315 - 07002749 - Sichkar Drainage:
Hi Greg,
Just to reiterate what we just discussed on the phone —
1) We met with Mr. Sichkar this morning and received permission to contact you.
2) Due to the specialized nature of the drainage design, we will be requesting that Mr. Cummings (the
Geotech Engineer) also review the Drainage Plan and perform construction inspections.
3) Because the trench drain will be intercepting ground water flow that was probably originally seeping
downhill past the detention basin and the drain will then reroute this additional flow into the detention
pond, the increase in flow to the pond needs to be estimated and then the pond operation needs to
be evaluated to determine if this groundwater will cause the pond not to function as designed and if
the additional flow will increase the discharge leaving the pond.
Though we did not discuss this on the phone but if the pond does not have capacity and/or the flow leaving
the pond increases then modifications may need to be designed and constructed to mitigate the impact.
Thank you,
Henry M. Allen P.E.

Subject: Dusk Ct S 2315 - 07002749 - Sichkar Drainage: Geotech Assistance
Hi Mr. Cummings,
I left you a voice message on your phone. We met with Mr. Sichkar this morning and received permission to
contact you. We have concerns with the water conditions on his property and so are requesting the
following:
A) Due to the specialized nature of the drainage design we need you to —
1) Review the Drainage Plan submittals until they are approved, and,
2) To inspect the foundation construction including what has already been constructed and what has yet
to be constructed to make sure it meets the recommendations you provided in a November 2, 2006 letter to
Mr. Sichkar. Once you are satisfied with the construction, please send me a letter stating this.
B) To assist the design Engineer in evaluating the amount of groundwater flow going to the pond prior to the
installation of the trench (curtain) drain and after the installation of the drain.
C) During a site visit we observed that there has been some grading of the site beyond which you may have
observed during your site visit. The grading has exposed what appears to be at least 4 to 5 feet of clayey
silt. Is this the decomposed granite you referred to? If not, please take another look at the soils to confirm
that they still match your site observations including the type and thickness.
Thank you for your assistance,
Henry M. Allen P.E.
