Sprague Ave. • Suite 106 • Spokane Valley, WA 99206 (509) 921-1000 • Fax (509) 921-1008 • cityhall@spokanevalley.org I have reviewed your letter, dated May 12, 2009, requesting an interpretation regarding whether a manufactured home can be added to an existing manufactured home to make a duplex. I have reviewed the Spokane Valley Municipal Code zoning regulations and can find no requirement that a duplex be stick built, therefore as long as your structure meets the definition of a duplex, there will be not be a zoning restriction on it because it is a manufactured home. You must meet all other requirements including setbacks, etc but it doesn't appear that will be an issue. Please check with the Building Division before submitting your application. There may be specific engineering requirements that must be met because of your particular proposal. Good luck with your project.
