Dear Garald: We've just, finally, received the written report from the Civil Engineer, Mr. Wallander. The Building Department (Mr. Davis) has written in the past that if a qualified engineer stated that the house was habitable and safe in which to live, that would solve the problems that they had. Accordingly, I am submitting the original of Mr. Wallander's letter and will attach a copy of this transmittal letter to the Court this afternoon so Judge Wilson will have it in the morning. If there's anything that you need relative to this case, I will certainly ,r to help with it. AG7 , JIB for W. Smith 3514 N Edgerton Rd. Dear Judge Wilson: I have just come from the Smith residence to look at what had been done since my last observation. Mr. Smith has made very substantial improvements to the property in the interim. All of the items referenced in my previous letter have been completed. I understand that the Court is concerned as to whether the property is suitable for habitation. What I have observed, including the very substantial work that Mr. Smith has done or had done is that the residence is most suitable for habitation and does not appear to be a hazard or danger to an occupant. Mr. Smith appears to have taken the Building Department's requests to heart and done what has been asked of him. In conclusion, "Yes, I believe the house is safe and it is habitable". e((MC( d E.
