1. Bottom of footing placed 24" below finish grade except as specified in Section 3.03.030 of the
County Code for detached accessory buildings.
2. The ground under the floor may be excavated to the elevation of the top of the footing.
3. Foundations may support a roof in addition to the number of floors. Foundations supporting roofs
only shall be as required for supporting one floor.
4. Horizontal reinforcement is to be located in the upper 12" of the wall.
5. Backfilling shall not be commenced until after the wall is anchored to the floor and as specified in
Chapter 18 of the U.B.C.
NOM: These requirements are applicable only when the wall is restrained by an acceptable diaphragm
(i.e., floor slab, floor joist, etc.).
