MANSON, DIRECTOR CERTIFIED - RETURN RECEIPT REQUESTED Laws and regulations in our society are, at times, difficult to understand and fully comprehend. This is true of zoning ordinances, which are laws intended to protect and govern the many different uses of land in Spokane County. It is my responsibility, as the Zoning Investigator, when the situation arises, ----to help resolve conflicts involving the Spokane County Zoning Ordinance. This office has received reports regarding a business office on your property, located at East 7614 Broadway, Spokane County, parcel number 18543-0412. This property is zoned Agricultural Suburban. Section 4.05.100 of the Spokane County Zoning Ordinance prohibits commercial uses within the Agricultural Suburban Zone. As discussed with you by telephone on February 3rd, you may operate your business as a Home Occupation provided that it is conducted within your place of residence. Enclosed is a copy of the Home Occupation standards. If you choose to continue the business at its present location, a rezone application would have to be submitted to the Spokane County Planning Department for hearing and approval. We are of the opinion that since you have now been informed of the requirements of the Spokane County Zoning Ordinance, a period of 30 days, beginning with your receipt of this letter, should be sufficient time in which to bring your property into compliance by initiating one of the above alternatives.
