RE: Inspection of (4) Dryer Vents - East 12422 Olive Avenue
To whom it may concern:
A recent inspection of the four (4) dryer vents installed in the
residence located at the above mentioned address, indicated that the
flex ducts are in violation of Section 1104 of the Uniform
Mechanical Code.
Section 1104 of the Uniform Mechanical Code specifically states,
"Ducts used for domestic kitchen range ventilation and domestic
clothes dryers shall be of metal and shall have smooth interior
surfaces. Commerical dryer exhaust ducts shall be installed in
accordance with their listing. Furthermore, an exception to the
code states, "Approved flexible duct connectors not more than 6 feet
in length may be used in connection with domestic dryer exhausts.
Flexible duct connectros shall not be concealed within
construction."
We are requiring that you bring the venting into compliance and call
for a re -inspection. A recheck of our files will be conducted
in ten (10) days of the date of this letter.
