RE: Drainage Easement Maintenance Responsibility
Dear Mr. Espinoza:
The City of Spokane Valley has received a request to vacate an easement that allows
the City to access a 16-foot drainage easement that crosses your property (see
attached map and easement document). The location of the access easement is at
3715 S. Woodruff Rd, shown on the attached map as Lot 2 Block 1, Ponderosa 6th
Addition.
Upon review of the language in the drainage easement dedication document (see
attached), the drainage easement is to remain clear of structures, plantings or other
materials that may change the direction or flow of drainage channels in the easement.
Further, it is the responsibility of the property owners to continually maintain the
easement.
Since there are no utilities or other public facilities located within the drainage easement
crossing your property, and it is the responsibility of the property owners to maintain the
drainage easement, the City has no need for access and will begin the process to
remove the access easement across Lot 2.
Please contact me at 720-5018 if you have questions.
