The following is the title and summary of Ordinance No.20-010 passed by the Spokane Valley City Council
on the 8th day of September, 2020:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SPOKANE VALLEY, SPOKANE COUNTY,
WASHINGTON AMENDING CHAPTERS 19.60 AND 19.90 OF THE SPOKANE VALLEY
MUNICIPAL CODE RELATED TO ESSENTIAL PUBLIC FACILITIES,AND OTHER MATTERS
RELATING THERETO.
Section I states that the purpose of this ordinance is to amend chapters 19.60 and 19.90 to allow Essential
Public Facilities(EPF) in the MU zone and to prohibit locally significant EPF's in the single family zones.
Section 2 sets forth certain Findings and Conclusions; Section 3 amends SVMC chapter 19.60 relative to
essential public facilities; Section 4 amends 19,90 to set out essential public faciltiies procedures and to
state that all EPFs having local significance may only be permitted in the MFR,MU, CMU,NC,RC, IMU
and I zones and shall not be permitted in the R-1, R-2,R-3, or R-4 zones. Section 5 speaks to severability,
and Section 6 provides for an effective date.
