The following is the title and summary of Ordinance No.20-017 passed by the Spokane Valley City Council
on the 10tht day of November, 2020:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SPOKANE VALLEY, SPOKANE COUNTY,
WASHINGTON,LEVYING THE REGULAR PROPERTY TAXES FOR THE CITY OF SPOKAANE
VALLEY, WASHINGTON FOR THE YEAR COMMENCING JANUARY 1, 2021 TO PROVIDE
REVENUE FOR CITY SERVICES AS SET FORTH IN THE CITY BUDGET, AND OTHER
MATTERS RELATING THERETO.
Section 1 states that an increase in the regular property tax levy is authorized for the levy to be collected in
the 2021 tax year, and the dollar amount of increase over the actual levy amount from the previous year
shall be $0.00 which is a percentage increase of 0.0% from the previous year; and that this increase is
exclusive of additional revenue resulting from new construction, improvements to property, newly
constructed wind turbines, any increase in the value of state assessed property, any annexations that have
occurred, and refunds made. Section 2 states that a copy of the budget with this ordinance shall be
transmitted by the City Clerk to the Division of Municipal Corporations in the office of the State Auditor,
and to the Association of Washington Cities. Section 3 speaks to severability, and Section 4 provides for
