The following is the title and summary of Ordinance No.21-007 passed by the Spokane Valley City Council
on the 8th day of June,2021:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SPOKANE VALLEY, SPOKANE COUNTY, WASHINGTON
ADOPTING AMENDMENTS TO THE SHORELINE MASTER PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT
REGULATIONS IN CHAPTER 21.50 SPOKANE VALLEY MUNICIPAL CODE, AND OTHER
MATTERS RELATING THERETO.
Section 1 states that the City finds that the review and evaluation required by state statute have occurred as
described in the recitals included in the Ordinance, which are incorporated herein by reference as set forth
in Section 2. Section 2 adopts the recitals as findings for this Ordinance, and also makes and set out certain
findings as noted within the Ordinance. Section 3 amends Spokane Valley Municipal Code 21.50 and
Appendix A-1 as per the exhibit attached to the Ordinance. Section 4 directs that the revised Shoreline
Master Program along with associated documents, shall be submitted to the Department of Ecology for
review and approval prior to formal adoption. Section 5 addresses severability, and Section 6 provides for
an effective date: that the ordinance shall be in full force and effective five days after publication of this
ordinance summary, and that the amendments to chapter 21.50 SVMC and Appendix A-1 shall not be
effective until 14 days after the Department of Ecology's final action as provided by state statute. The full
