In accordance with Section 14.508 of the Interim Spokane Valley Zoning code, the Community Director has approved your application based on the following: 1. The keeping of large and small animals was established under prior zoning for your property including horses, goats, and chickens. 2. There are maintained physical improvements on the property specifically designed for the keeping of animals such as barn, corrals, fencing, and chicken coops. 3. The total number of animals kept on the property shall not exceed 2 large animals and 19 small animal or 19 fowl. 4. Structures, pens, yards, and grazing areas shall be in a clean and sanitary condition as determined by the Spokane County Health District. 5. Any expansion or extension of the use shall be in accordance with the non -conforming use provisions of the City of Spokane Valley at the time of the expansion or extension. Based on the above information and the evidence supplied in your application, the Community Development Director determines your property has non -conforming use rights for animal keeping. Your nonconforming right can be lost under any of the following conditions: 1. You discontinue the keeping of animals on your property for a period of one year or more coupled with overt acts evidencing such intent to discontinue animal keeping; and/or 2.
