Pursuant to Spokane Valley Municipal Code 2.10.020, the purpose of this Commis- sion Is to review and establish the salaries of the Mayor and the Councilmembers. The Commission will consist of five members. The term of appointment is up to one year, although typically has taken two or three months. Member qualifications include: U.S. citizenship, registered voter in Spo- kane County, and a resident of the City of Spokane Valley for at least one year. Com- mission members serve without compensa- tion. Appointments to this Commission are scheduled for the January 18, 2022 Council meeting. The first meeting of the Commis- sion shall occur no later than February 7, 2022; members will also be responsible for filing a report of their recommendations by April 18, 2022. Dates are subject to change based on the actual appointment date. City staff members will assist the Commission in its work.
