AMENDMENT NO. 1
TO THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG)
AGREEMENT
By this amendment, , hereinafter referred to as the "Agreement", is executed by SPOKANE
COUNTY, a political subdivision of the State of Washington, through its HOUSING AND
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT (HCD), hereinafter referred to as "the County"
and CITY OF SPOKANE VALLEY, a political subdivision of the State of Washington, whose
address is 10210 E. Sprague, Spokane Valley, WA 99206, hereinafter referred to as the
"Subrecipient", and together referred to as the `Parties".
IN CONSIDERATION OF PROMISES MADE HEREIN AND THE MUTUAL BENEFIT DERIVED
THEREFROM BY THE PARTIES MUTUALLY AGREE AS FOLLOWS:
RECITALS
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the Revised Code of Washington, the Board of County
Commissioners has the care of County property and the management of County funds and
business; and
WHEREAS, an Agreement was made on October 29, 2022, by and between SPOKANE
COUNTY, a political subdivision of the State of Washington, through its HOUSING AND
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT (HCD) and the CITY OF SPOKANE VALLEY;
and
WHEREAS: The Parties desire to amend the Agreement for the purpose of extending the term
of the agreement through December 31, 2023 by deleting and replacing Section 3: Period of
Performance, Subsection 3.1. as follows; and
NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the above recitals which are incorporated herein as well
as the mutual promises and conditions set forth hereinafter, the PARTIES do mutually agree that
the document executed by the PARTIES entitled "AGREEMENT BETWEEN SPOKANE
COUNTY AND THE CITY OF SPOKANE VALLEY IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE GRANT"shall
be amended as to those sections listed below. All other sections previously agreed upon shall
remain in full effect and force
3. PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE
3.1. Contingent on the receipt of a notice to proceed from the County, this Agreement shall
be effective July 1, 2022 and shall be completed no later than December 31, 2023,
hereinafter referred to as the "Project Period."
