Since the new homes have been built at the end of Sundown near Bowdish, flooding downstream has become worse. I feel like the flood maps need to be revised this year since that construction took place. Now the city is allowing 7 acres behind my home to be developed. Some of that is also on thisflood plain behind my house. I was told all the developer needs to do is bring in fill dirt to raise it out of a flood plain. That water is going to go some where. Each Development is goingto change that flood zone, and it’s creeping closer and closer to my house. So now we are considering adding that much fill dirt to the worst flooding spot in the area?? That is ridiculous! What a huge affect on the environment and wildlife this will have, not tomention the amount of trips a dump truck will have to take down Dishman Mica to bring all of this dirt in. That water is going to go somewhere, so it will just affect someone that already hasan established home like me. We will seek damages from the city and developer if we begin to have flooding problems for allowing this development to be allowed. The flooding areas needto be revisited with all this other development that is being done along the creek prior to such a huge decision. The amount of traffic on our roads if this goes through will also be ridiculous. This is apeaceful quiet neighborhood with large lots. You will ruin this aspect of the neighborhood by allowing this development. The schools are already overcrowded. Wildfire evacuation is a huge concern of mine as well. There are only two roads out of thePainted Hills neighborhood and Ponderosa, and 3 of those spill out onto Dishman Mica. I have not been in the neighborhood since an evacuation has happened, but I was told in the last oneit took two hours for my neighbors to get to Dishman Mica!! We are at the bottom of the neighborhood and it should take two minutes maximum to get to Dishman Mica. Since the lastevacuation Ponderosa has had even more development in the more south parts, so you’d be putting so many lives at risk if you allow this to go through. Wildfire is a very big threat in ourarea. This development should not be an option for so many reasons. There is nothing wrong with development as small portion of that land, but the extent of what the developers are trying todo is insane, and I hope the city does not allow something like this to happen. It will affect so many people, wildlife and the environment. Please do not allow this. Thank you, Jenny & Ed Yake 4003 S Forest Meadow Dr Sent from Yahoo Mail for iPhone
