To Whom It May Concern:
My name is Mary Scarpelli, and I live in Pine Rock Ridge. I have been very concerned about the proposed houses,
apartments, etc. to be built on the former Painted Hills golf course. First, that is a floods plain area. Even with tons
of dirt brought in , water will seek its own level. Some homes will be flooded. It's not a safe area to build.
Second, the traffic will multiply and the schools will be overwhelmed with new students. Chester, Horizon, and U
High are already pretty full. This will overcrowd the classrooms.
The area would be better served with a park and or walking paths. With all this over building, Spokane Valley will
turn into a little Seattle. Most people moved into this area because it was a bit rural and not so crowded. Crime will
rise and the noise and traffic will multiply. Where is the quality of life in that?
I am hoping this project will be scrapped for something more people friendly. If we wanted huge crowds and
gridlock, we would've moved to Seattle, Portland, or LA.
Sincerely,
Mary Scarpelli
