I just got word on the Painted Hills Golf Course project. It is my understanding that one more
greedy developer wants to start another large housing project in this area. I'm sure by now ifyou've traveled on the roads in Spokane, that you understand that we don't have the
infrastructure for all these people. Between traffic and potholes and construction you canbarely move in this town. Most of us liked our town before it started being sold off and
becoming overcrowded and over polluted. We were here for the Open Spaces that were here25 or 30 years ago. Much of that has been taken away in the name of progress. Most of us
understand that to mean money in the pockets. There was also the impact on wildlife. I'vegone from having skunks and raccoons around to having coyotes in my yard now. keep in
mind I do not live in the country, I'm talking about right here in the Spokane Valley residentialareas. They're here in my yard because they're being chased out of what little natural
environment we have left them. you need to stop this urban sprawl. People are coming herebecause they're overcrowded where they came from. we don't have the jobs or the
infrastructure to support all these people that come from elsewhere. Lastly, when large tracksare going to be developed , this information should be openly and widely available to the
people of this County and in particular this city and this is the first I've heard of it when thedecision I understand is going to be made tomorrow. it sounds like a business as usual. get a
little deal going, keep it hushed up and if the word does get out, standard procedure is thatmines have already been made up anyway. I guess that's what voting is for. you may not be
able to vote people out that don't listen because they don't hold an elected office, but I'm surethey have a boss that does. my vote is no to the proposal of turning the Painted Hills Golf
Course into a Housing Development. I'm sure if this had been brought to the attention of thepeople in the valley That you would find the overwhelming majority of people do not want
more development.
