Dear Lori,
We’re residents of Painted Hills, about a mile up the hill from the
proposed property development. We have the following
concerns about the project:
· They are putting fill dirt on top of the present soil. We’re
wondering where the water will go after they put the
additional layer of soil? (There’s talk of additional drainage
being put in – but this was never explained – are we now
going to have flooding on Dishman-Mica Road?)
· The traffic of these trucks bringing in all the soil seems
noisy, dusty and dangerous – especially with young children
going to school near there.
· We have no idea where the soil is coming from and if its
environmentally safe.
· The area is a flood plain –that’s why a golf course was there
– we can’t see how they can magically get rid of the flood
plain.
· We’re concerned about the impact of over 500 dwellings on
our local schools, on traffic, on noise and the fire evacuation
issue from Painted Hills – since we only have two exits from
the area on which our home sits.
· How will emergency vehicles get up to our area during
construction – and afterwards.
· We think it’s crazy to have 500 dwelling units in this limited
area. Too many homes for the neighborhood.
Thank you for considering our worries.
