This location is not very logical in that the roads around the area cannot support increased traffic. Also the housing proposed does not address the housing needs for low income and senior citizens on a fixed income. The houses in Spokane Valley appear to be selling quickly to people with cash from other parts of the country effectively inflating housing costs well above the abilities for the average wage earner in Spokane to afford housing. The environmental impact is probably the number one concern I have. I have lived in the midilome area for 32 years. Over that period of time I have seen fires that have forced an evacuation that revealed inadequate access for people trying to leave and I have also seen Thorpe road and the adjacent land flood on numerous occasions. Isn’t building on a flood plain ludicrous? The golf course is home to a variety of wildlife. It would be a perfect for children to explore and learn about our ecosystem. With very full schools adjacent to the property, wouldn’t it make better sense to create a park that was available to the schools to educate children about nature, than going against nature and destroying it? Sincerely, Sallie Hamilton
