The following is the title and summary of Ordinance No. 05-025 passed by the City of Spokane Valley
City Council on the 6`h day of September, 2005.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SPOKANE VALLEY, WASHINGTON,
EXTENDING THE URBAN RESIDENTIAL ESTATE (UR-1) INTERIM
ZONING AUTHORIZED BY ORDINANCE NO. 04-035 FOR AN
ADDITIONAL SIX MONTHS IN THE PONDEROSA AND ROTCHFORD
AREAS AND AMENDING THE WORKPLAN AND DECLARING AN
URGENCY AND EMERGENCY NECESSITATING THE IMMEDIATE
ADOPTION OF THE ORDINANCE AND FURTHER THAT THE
ORDINANCE SHALL BE EFFECTIVE UPON ADOPTION
Introductory paragraphs explain that interim zoning may be extended for one or more six-month periods
if a subsequent public hearing is held and findings of fact are made prior to renewal; and that a public
hearing was held August 25, 2005 by the Planning Commission, which recommended approval of a
revised Findings of Fact and workplan
Section 1: extends for an additional six-month period, the interim Urban Residential Estate (UR-1)
Zoning.
Section 2: declares an emergency in making immediate passage of this ordinance necessary to protect the
public health, safety, property and peace and further making the ordinance effective immediately upon
passage.
Section 3: provides for a severability clause.
Section 4: states this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon adoption as set forth for emergency
ordinances in RCW 35A.12.130.
