The following is the title and summary of Ordinance No. 06-022 passed by the City of Spokane Valley
City Council on the 24th day of October, 2006:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SPOKANE VALLEY,WASHINGTON,LEVYING
THE REGULAR PROPERTY TAXES FOR THE CITY OF SPOKANE VALLEY,
WASHINGTON IN SPOKANE COUNTY FOR THE YEAR COMMENCING
JANUARY 1, 2007 TO PROVIDE REVENUE FOR CITY SERVICES AS SET FORTH
IN THE CITY BUDGET.
As State law authorizes the City to levy regular property taxes upon the taxable property within the
corporate city limits to provide revenue for the 2007 current expense budget, the ordinance imposes
upon real property, personal property and utility property, a regular property tax for the 2007 year in the
total amount of$9,520,000; and sets the levy rate of$1.60 per one thousand dollars of assessed valuation
to be collected in 2007. The regular property tax is for the purpose of receiving revenue to make payment
upon the City's general indebtedness, and upon the general fund obligations for the payment of services,
projects and activities during the 2007 calendar year.
