The following is the title and summary of Ordinance No. 06-023 passed by the City of Spokane Valley
City Council on the 24th day of October,2006:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SPOKANE VALLEY, WASHINGTON, CONFIRMING
THE CITY PROPERTY TAX LEVY AT 1% ($95,450)IN EXCESS OF THE 2004 AD VALOREM
PROPERTY TAX LEVY WHICH WAS COLLECTED IN THE CITY 2005 FISCAL YEAR,
PURSUANT TO RCW 84.55.120, PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY, AND AN EFFECTIVE
DATE
The purpose of the ordinance is to use excess levy capacity of the City that resulted from the tax
levy in 2004 for the 2050 fiscal year. The ordinance states findings that the City appropriately
noticed and held public hearings and adopted a balanced budget; and to support the adopted
current expense budget, the City determines there is substantial need to include the 1% increase
($95,450)allowed by state law.
