BY SPOKANE VALLEY CITY COUNCIL
The following is the title and summary of Ordinance No. 07-019 passed by the Spokane Valley City
Council on the 23rd day of October 2007:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SPOKANE VALLEY, WASHINGTON, LEVYING THE
REGULAR PROPERTY TAXES FOR THE CITY OF SPOKANE VALLEY, WASHINGTON IN
SPOKANE COUNTY FOR THE YEAR COMMENCING JANUARY 1, 2008 TO PROVIDE
REVENUE FOR CITY SERVICES AS SET FORTH IN THE CITY BUDGET.
The ordinance sets the 2008 levy rate upon real property, personal property, and utility property in the
total amount of$10,350,000; and states that it is recognized that the City may levy $3.60 per thousand
dollars of assessed value less the highest fire district levy within the City of Spokane Valley and less the
library district levy; and that the City expects the dollar amount of the property tax levy to be
$10,350,000, which is $830,000 greater (8.7%) than the 2006 levy which was collected in 2007. The
ordinance also directs the City Clerk to certify to the County Legislative Authority a copy of the
ordinance as well as the budget estimates.
