The following is the title and summary of Ordinance No. 09-021 passed by the Spokane Valley City
Council on the 15th day of September,2009:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SPOKANE VALLEY, SPOKANE COUNTY, WASHINGTON,
ADOPTING THE SPOKANE VALLEY SPRAGUE APPLEWAY CORRIDOR SUBAREA PLAN,
AMENDING ORDINANCE 09-012 AND AMENDING ORDINANCE 07-015 AND AMENDING
SPOKANE VALLEY MUNICIPAL CODE (SVMC) 19.110, AND 19.20.020, AND ESTABLISHING
NEW ZONING DISTRICT BOUNDARIES.
This amendment to the Uniform Development Code amends Ordinance 09-012 by removing Book One of
the Spokane Valley Sprague Appleway Corridor Subarea Plan,(Subarea Plan)and adopting the remaining
Books Two and Three as part of the Uniform Development Code. The Ordinance further states that the
adoption of the Subarea Plan is consistent with the amendments to the Comprehensive Plan and Map
adopted by Ordinance 09-022, and makes other minor changes to ensure compliance and consistency with
the Comprehensive Plan and Map. The ordinance states that on January 23, 2008,the Subarea Plan and
amendment to the Comprehensive Plan and Map were provided to the Community Trade and Economic
Development Department as per RCW 36.70A.106; and that the amendment of the Comprehensive Plan
and Map and the adoption of the Subarea Plan is consistent with SVMC 19.30.010, 020.
