Re: Implementation of 2024 agreement extension, agreement for emergency respite shelter
beds, 23-026.01, executed 1/19/2024.
Dear Fawn Schott:
The City of Spokane Valley("City")and Volunteers of America of Eastern Washington and
Northern Idaho("Contractor")executed an agreement for provision of emergency respite shelter
beds on January 23,2023 and amended said agreement on January 19,2024 by extending the
initial term by restating and supplanting the original terms, and by extending the agreement
through June 30,2024. The agreement, as amended,is referred to herein as"the Agreement,"
and the City and Contractor are jointly referred to herein as"the Parties,"
The Agreement states that it expires on June 30,2024,unless otherwise extended by the Parties in
writing signed by the Parties. The City would like to extend the term of Agreement to December
31, 2024. The compensation as outlined in Exhibit A,2024 to the Agreement,includes the labor
and material cost negotiated and shall not exceed $55,000 for all of 2024 (which includes work
performed in 2024 prior to July 1, 2024). All of the other contract provisions contained in the
original Agreement shall remain in place and remain unchanged in exercising this extension.
By signing below, you are stating you are in agreement with extending the terms and conditions
of the Agreement and continuing to provide services through December 31,2024. The Parties,by
signing below, agree that the terms and conditions as stated in the Agreement dated January 19,
2024 shall control through December 31, 2024. Please return a signed copy to the City for
execution. The last proof of insurance provided to the City expires July 30, 2024. Please also
provide, current and updated insurance information. A fully executed original copy of this
extension will be mailed to you for your files.
