Facility Use Agreement
THIS AGREEMENT is made and entered into between the Spokane Conservation District, located at
4422 E 8" Ave., Spokane Valley, WA, hereinafter referred to as "SCD," and the
City of Spokane Valley hereinafter referred to as "Facility User."
RECITALS
SCD makes available for rental of the Gerald A. Scheele Training roorn located on its premises to its
Partners, limited for purposes consistent with the mission and values of SCD.
Other requests, outside of SCD Partners, may be considered with Director approval.
SCD prohibits the use of the training room for political events/campaigns, and commercial
solicitations.
SCD reserves the right to deny facility rentals to organizations or groups that have broken the terms
of this facility use agreement or demonstrated disruptive behavior.
NOW, THREFORE, IT IS HEREBY AGREED as follows:
1. Reservations:
Reservations will be made on a first come first serve basis. Reservation dates may not be
more than one year after the date the request is made.
To confirm reservation dates, SCD must receive a signed Facility Use Agreement and
Training Room Application.
2. Fees and Payments:
Rental fees are based on the following fee matrix and nurnber of days requested on the
attached application. Payments may be made to SCD via check or credit card. Full payment
must be received by SCD on or before the event date.

Facility User agrees to remit payment to SCD in the amount of $ 5 0 for the total of
1 full ha f ay(s) requested on the attached application.
3. Premises:
The SCD's Gerald A. Scheele Training Room is located at 4422 E. 8" Ave, Spokane Valley,
WA 99212. Facility User shall have access to the training room, common areas of the SCD's
lobby, restrooms, and parking lot. Facility User shall not have access to the SCD office suite
(past reception area) or tenant suites.

Facility User may request inspection of the premises prior to use and agrees to accept'as
is!
4. Hours of Operation:
The Gerald A. Scheele Room at the SCD is available for rent Monday —Thursday between
the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM (excluding holidays). Reservations must be made within
the hours of operation, including room/catering setup and breakdown time. Facility use
may be made available outside of these hours of operation based on Director approval.

5. Food and Beverage Use:
Facility User may cater events themselves or through a third -party vendor at their sole
expense. Catering related setup and teardown must take place within the `hours of
Operation' as stated above. Facility User is responsible for providing all tableware,
dispensers, and serving implements related to catering.
SCD does not provide food storage or preparation areas. Counterspace and a sink are
Located along the south side of the training room and may be used for food and beverages.
Alcoholic beverages are prohibited in the Gerald A. Scheele Training Room.
6. Room Setup / Equipment Use:
Facility User shall be provided access to room amenities including:
• Rolling Training Room Tables
• Chairs (up to 40)
• AV Equipment: room controls, projector, screen, podium, meeting awl device
Facility User will be responsible for setup and arrangement of the room including staging
tables and chairs to accommodate their needs. Facility User will be responsible for clearing
tables and countertops and placing any debris in the provided trash / recycling bins and
disposing in the dumpster located in the northeast corner of the parking lot. All areas shall
be left in their original condition.
Facility User shaft provide their own laptop or device to connect to the provided
projector. SCD does not provide laptops or other digital devices to play Facility User's
content other than the projector and HDMI inputs.
SCD shalt provide limited consultation on the use of room controls and AV equipment. SCD
does not provide technical staffing for training room rentals.
Facility User may request technical consultation prior to their training to ensure equipment
needs will be met.
Facility User may display signage relating to their event with prior approval from SCD.
Facility User must provide stands or displays for signage. Signage may not be adhered,
tacked, nailed, or affixed to lobby or training room watts.

Facility Use Agreement
Facility User may adhere'sticky' notes or flip charts to white boards only. The use of thumb
tacks, tape, or'blue goo' is prohibited. Do not write on the notes or charts while adhered to
the wall as ink can bleed through and damage the walls.
Facility Userwill provide adequate supervision to ensure that the facility is not to be used in
ways that create safety hazards or pose unreasonable safety risks.
7. Additional training materials
Facility User is responsible for providing all training materials necessary to conduct their
event. SCD does not print, copy, or reproduce training materials. SCD does not provide
pens, paper, etc.
8. Indemnification
Facility User shall defend, indemnify, and hold harmless SCD, its officers, officials,
employees and volunteers from and against any and all claims, suits, actions, or liabilities
for injury or death of any person, or for loss or damage to property, which arises out of
Facility User's use of Premises, or from any activity, work or thing done, permitted, or
suffered by Facility User in or about the Premises, except only such injury or damage as
shall have been occasioned by the negligence of SCD.
9. Cancellation
Please provide notice of event cancellation as soon as possible. Cancellations will receive a
full refund of the rental fee if the Facility User has made payment.
