NOTICE OF ORDINANCE PASSED
BY SPOKANE VALLEY CITY COUNCIL
The following is the title and summary of Ordinance No. 25-018 passed by the Spokane Valley City
Council on the 16"' day of December 2025: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SPOKANE VALLEY
ADOPTING CHAPTER 9.60 OF THE SPOKANE VALLEY MUNICIPAL CODE ESTABLISHING THE
CITY'S AUTOMATED TRAFFIC SAFETY CAMERA PROGRAM, AND OTHER MATTERS RELATED
THERETO. The purpose of this Ordinance 25-018 is to adopt chapter 9.60 of the Spokane Valley
Municipal Code ("SVMC) authorizing the use of automated traffic safety cameras and related automated
systems to detect, record, enforce, and prosecute specific traffic violations. This chapter shall establish
the City's automated traffic safety program in accordance with RCW 46.63.210 et seq. The purpose of
the program is to promote the health, safety and welfare of all rights -of -way users by creating a safer
environment for all. Section 1 adopts chapter 9.60 of the SVMC. Section 2 notes that all other sections are
unchanged. Section 3 speaks to severability and Section 4 provides for an effective date. The full text of
