NOTICE OF ORDINANCE PASSED
BY SPOKANE VALLEY CITY COUNCIL
The following is the title and summary of Ordinance No. 26-004 passed by the Spokane Valley City Council
on the Yd day of February 2026:
AN EMERGENCY INTERIM ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SPOKANE VALLEY, SPOKANE
COUNTY, WASHINGTON, AMENDING TITLE 19 OF THE SPOKANE VALLEY MUNICIPAL CODE
TO RECLASSIFY MARIJUANA RETAIL SALES USES AS NONCONFORMING UNTIL FURTHER
EVALUATION IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE CITY'S COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AMENDMENT
PROCESS, AND OTHER MATTERS RELATING THERETO. The purpose of this interim Ordinance is to
allow for adopting immediate reclassification of marijuana retail sales uses as nonconforming. Section 1
speaks to the preliminary findings. Section 2 speaks to the interim amendment adopted to Title 19.
Section 3 states date and time for a public hearing. Section 4 speaks to a work plan and Section 5 notes
the duration. Section 6 speaks to ratification. Section 7 speaks to severability and Section 8 provides for
the declaration of emergency and an effective date. The full text of Ordinance 26-004 is available at the
City of Spokane Valley City offices as identified above. A copy will be mailed upon request to the City
Clerk.
