Background:
A. Reasons:
MINUTES
January 29, 1970 ,
The residential area proposed for upgrading by the property owners residing
in the area was zoned in a "Suburban Residential" classification on
September 2, 1939, which zone permitted apartments. In a subsequent
ordinance the "Suburban Residential" districts were reclassified Multiple
Family Suburban. This application has come before the Planning Commis-
sion as an attempt to prevent further apartment development in the area.
The Planning Commission is of the opinion that existing residential
land use within the subject area 1s predominately single family and that
the area would be more appropriately zoned Restricted Residential
rather than Multiple Family Suburban, except that Multiple Family
Suburban zoning would be appropriate as a buffer zone between the
established single family residences and properties having frontage
on Sprague Avenue. Consequently, the Planning Commission
recommends that the indicated portions of Messrs. Belknap and
Jenkins properties be left in the Multiple Family Suburban zoning.
