Re: First Amendment to Professional Services Contract for Library and City Center Master
Planning eorecuted December 3, 2007.
Dear Mr. Freedman:
The City of Spokane Valley would like to execute an Amendment with Freedman, Tung and
Bottomley (FTB), to that agreement executed by the parties on December 2, 2007, concerning
services for the Library and City Center Master Plan. The City proposes amending the Contract
by requesting that both parties sign this letter.
This Amendment will add $2,000.00 to the contract amount for services relating to cost estimates
for the City Center streetscape and public spaces as shown on the Library and City Center Master
Plan prepared by FTB under the original contract. FTB will coordinate and advise Glatting
Jackson (GJ) as they prepare a cost estimate for the City Center streetscape and public spaces.
FTB's scope of services for this amendment is as follows:
1. FTB will prepare streetscape design assumptions for the City Center. This will be a
marked -up City Center master plan with hand - written annotations.
2. FTB will forward the marked -up master plan to City and Glatting Jackson (GJ) and will
participate in a follow -up phone conversation with City and GJ.
3. FTB will receive and review GJ's cost estimate once it is completed.
4. FTB will prepare 1 plan view sketch and 1 streetscape cross - section for the following
interior City Center streets:
a. Plaza Road between Sprague and 2"d.
b. Dartmouth Road between Sprague and Appleway
C. I" Avenue between Dartmouth and Oberlin
The sketches will correspond to the streetscape assumptions being used to develop City
Center cost estimates.
Upon execution, this letter will serve to amend Section 3. of the Agreement ,for Professional
Services as follows:

3. Compensation. The original compensation amount was $40,000. This amendment will
increase the total contract amount to $42,000.
All other terms of the original contract are unchanged by this amendment.
