SECTION 6 -02 CONCRETE STRUCTURES
6 -02.1 Description
Add the following:
The work also includes forming, casting and installing the Pre -Cast Concrete Catchbasin lids.
6 -02.2 Materials
Add the following:
Coil Lifting Insert shall have a hot dip galvanize finish and be a CX -28 Coil Wingnut Insert
with '/2 Inch bolt Diameter and H = 2 -1/4 inches, manufactured by Meadow Burke (877 -518-
7665) or approved equal.
6 -02.3 Construction Requirements
6- 02.3(27) Concrete for Precast Units
Delete this section and replace with the following:
Precast units shall not be removed from forms until the concrete has attained a minim
compressive strength of 3,000 psi as verified by a cylinder break of a cylinder made from
the same concrete as the precast units. The cylinders shall be made, handled, and stored in
accordance with WSDOT FOP for AASHTO T 23 and compression tested in accordance
with AASHTO Test Method T 22 and AASHTO Test Method T 231.

of +/- 1/8 inch in length, width and height. When a straightedge is laid along the top or
bottom of the lid, the distance from the straightedge to the surface of the concrete shall not
exceed 1/16 ".

The Contractor shall lift the lids with an eyebolt matching the coil insert bolt diameter and
thread.

The Contractor shall lift the lids with an eyebolt matching the coil insert bolt diameter and
thread. After installation, the Contractor shall give the eyebolts to the Engineer.
6 -02.4 Measurement

Payment will be made in accordance with Section 1 -04.1 for each of the following bid items
that are included in the proposal:

The unit contract price for "Pre -Cast Concrete Catchbasin lid ", per each shall include all costs
for furnishing materials (including coil inserts and lifting eyebolts), equipment and labor to
form; cast with 4,000 psi portland cement concrete; cure; and install the Pre -Cast Concrete
Catchbasin lids.
The unit contract price for "Pre -Cast Concrete Catchbasin lid ", per each shall also include all
costs for furnishing materials, equipment and labor to form the curb below the lid.

8 -04.1 Description

The work also includes forming and placing curb to support the Pre -Cast Concrete Catchbasin
lid.
8 -04.3 Construction Requirements
Add the following:
The contractor shall construct two wood forms, each with outside dimensions 1 /4 inch greater
than the Pre -Cast Concrete Catchbasin lid dimensions shown on the attached plan. The lid
forms shall be used in the formwork after placing the concrete so that the resulting curb below
the lid will support the Pre -Cast Concrete Catchbasin lid without rocking.
8 -04.4 Measurement
Add the following
The supporting curb under the Pre -Cast Concrete Catchbasin lid shall be measured as "Cement
Concrete Traffic Curb and 12" Gutter ".
8 -04.5 Payment
Add the following:
Payment will be made in accordance with Section 1 -04.1 for each of the following bid items
that are included in the proposal:

All costs for forming the supporting curb below the Pre -Cast Concrete Catchbasin Lid shall be
included in the per each, unit cost for the "Pre -Cast Concrete Catchbasin Lid ". The unit
contract price for "Cement Concrete Traffic Curb and 12" Gutter" shall include all costs for
furnishing materials, equipment and labor to excavate, furnish portland cement concrete; place
and cure the curb below the Pre -Cast Concrete Catchbasin lid.
