DESCRIPTION OF CHANGES
This Change Order replaces the Bridge Approach Slab with PCC Pavement and extends Contract Time 1.5 days..
It also pays for Installation of temporary WSDOT Type 2 Concrete Barriers In the Sullivan Road Centerline median north of Indiana Ave.
This will allow the City to easily reroute traffic during future bridge repair projects. See attached CO 7 Specifications.

Change Order 7 replaces the Bridge Approach Slab with PCC Pavement. It extends Contract
time by 1.5 days, to compensate for time lost by the Contractor waiting to get the Bridge
Approach Slab steel stamped by a WSDOT inspector. It also pays for temporary installation of
Type 2 Concrete Barriers in the Sullivan Road Centerline median north of Indiana Avenue so
that the City can reroute traffic during future bridge repair projects.
The total estimated cost (incl. tax) for this Change Order work is - $6,716.80 paid for by a 79.5%
Spokane Transit Authority (STA) grant, a $100,000 WSDOT grant and the City of Spokane
Valley. There are sufficient funds in the project budget to cover these costs.

The Contractor shall furnish, install and remove Concrete Barrier Type 2 with two terminal sections in
accordance with WSDOT Standard Plan C -8.
8 -11.4 Measurement
Add the following
"Temporary Type 2 Concrete Barrier" shall be measure per linear feet installed.
8 -11.5 Payment
Add the following:
The linear foot unit price for "Temporary Type 2 Concrete Barrie' shall include all costs for furnishing,
loading, transporting, installing and removing Concrete Barrier Type 2 with two terminal sections conforming
to WSDOT Standard Plan C -8 where directed by the Enginer. The unit price does not include providing
temporary traffic control. The unit price shall hold for a time, not to exceed six months from the date of
instaalation.

NOTES
1. Wire rope loops shall be T - B" long, except for the top loop of the Barrier Terminal, which
shall be 2'- 0" long.
2. Except for the locations of the wire rope loops, the dimensions shown in END VIEW "A"
are typical for both ends of a Barter Section or opposing ends of Barrier Terminals.
3. Connecting and Drift Pin head designs vary among different manufacturers. Pin designs
that are shaped differently than those shown in the detail are acceptable, if the bearing
surface is within the minimum and maximum widths specified.
4. The vertical spacing of the Wire Rope Loops in a Barrier Terminal is determined by the
end of the Barrier Segment to which it is being connected. See BARRIER CONNECTION
DETAIL (Sheet 2).
