This Change Order pays for work at the SE Comer of the Flora Rd and Mission Avenue roundabout to Increase the stopping eight distance
for the crosswalk across Mission Avenue impaired by the existing sbt foot high fence surrounding the backyard of 1627 N. Coach Dr,
Work Includes relocating the fence; relocating the segmental block well behind the fence; relocaffng the pedestrian ramp, curb and
adjacent aldawalk; furnishing and placing topsoll and bark mulch; and relocating shrubs.

The lump sum contract price for "CO 16 Temporary Traffic Control" shall include
all costs to furnish, install and remove all traffic control devices shown on the
Stage 3 Detour, Intersection Closure Plan.
2 -02 REMOVAL OF STRUCTURES AND OBSTRUCTIONS
2 -02.3 Construction
The Contractor shall protect the existing underground irrigation line located parallel and
adjacent to the S curb. If the sprinkler line is damaged during S curb removal, the
Contractor shall repair the sprinkler line at no additional cost.
2.02.4 Measurement
"Remove S Curb" shall be measured per linear foot, plan view.
2 -02.5 Payment
Payment will be made in accordance with Section 1 -04.1 for:
"Remove S Curb ", per linear foot.
The linear foot unit contract price for "Remove S Curb ", shall include all costs for
sawcutting, removing and disposing of the S curb at a Contractor furnished disposal site.

2 -03 ROADWAY EXCAVATION AND EMBANKMENT
2 -03.4 Measurement
"Miscellaneous Grading" shall not be measured.
2 -03.5 Payment
Payment will be made in accordance with Section 1 -04.1 for:
"Miscellaneous Grading ", per lump sum.
The lump sum unit contract price for "Miscellaneous Grading ", shall include all costs for
loading, haul and disposal of all necessary excavation (including haul and disposal at a
Contractor furnished disposal site); furnishing, placing and compacting all embankment;
necessary for the construction of Change Order 16.
8 -02 ROADSIDE RESTORATION
8 -02.4 Measurement
"Miscellaneous Landscaping" shall not be measured.
8 -02.5 Payment
Payment will be made in accordance with Section 1 -04.1 for:
"Miscellaneous Landscaping ", per lump sum.
The lump sum price for "Miscellaneous Landscaping" shall include the cost of relocating
plantings within the work area of CO 16, where directed by the property owner.
8 -12 CHAIN LINK FENCE AND WIRE FENCE
8 -12.4 Measurement
"Salvage Vinyl Fencing" shall be measured per linear foot, plan view.
"Install Vinyl Fencing" shall be measured per linear foot, plan view, including modified
posts.
8 -12.5 Payment
Payment will be made in accordance with Section 1 -04.1 for:
"Salvage Vinyl Fencing ", per linear foot.

The linear foot unit contract price for "Salvage Vinyl Fencing ", shall include all costs for
dismantling the existing fencing, beams, slats and posts; safely storing all fence
components until reused; loading, hauling and disposal of all unused fence parts at a
Contractor furnished disposal site.
"Install Vinyl f=encing ", per linear foot.
The linear foot unit contract price for "Install Vinyl Fencing ", shall include all costs for
hauling from storage; modifying existing posts (or furnishing and installing new posts) to
accommodate the new alignment; and re- Installing all fence components necessary for
the new alignment.
8 -14 CEMENT CONCRETE SIDEWALKS
8 -14.4 Measurement
"Salvage & Install Detectable Warning Surface" shall be measured per square foot, plan
view.
"Cement Concrete Sidewalk & Pedestrian Ramp" shall be measured per square yard,
plan view, and shall include the area of the Detectable Warning Surface.
8 -14.5 Payment
Payment will be made in accordance with Section 1 -04.1 for:
"Salvage & Install Detectable Warning Surface ", per square foot.
The square foot unit contract price for "Salvage & Install Detectable Warning Surface ",
shall include all costs for sawcutting and removing the existing truncated dome panel
from the surrounding concrete and casting it in place at the CO 16 location. If the
detectable Warning surface is damaged during salvage, the Contractor shall furnish and
install a new panel meeting WSDOT specifications at no additional cost.
"Cement Concrete Sidewalk & Pedestrian Ramp" per square yard.
The square yard unit contract price for "Cement Concrete Sidewalk & Pedestrian Ramp ",
shall include all costs for furnishing materials, equipment and labor to install the sidewalk
and new pedestrian ramp per the CO 16 plans and Spokane Valley Standard Plans. The
unit cost shall also include the cost of installing expansion joint material around the
existing power pole and forming a circular sleeve around the existing sign post.
8 -24 SEGMENTAL CONCRETE MASONRY RETAINING WALL
8 -24.1 Description
The segmental concrete masonry retaining wall work includes, but is not limited to:
construction staking, excavation, furnishing and installing leveling pad; furnishing and

installing modular block concrete standard and cap units, furnishing and installing
crushed surfacing top course backfill; in accordance with the Plans and Specifications,
or as designated by the Engineer.
8 -24.2 Materials
Modular Block Units shall be Windsor Stone by Oldcastle or approved equal and shall
have the following nominal dimensions: Height 4 ", Face Length 12 ", Width 7 -12 ". The
modular block units shall have a back lip connection system and shall be gray or
charcoal tone in color. All units used shall be homogenous color and finish.
Base leveling pad material and backfill shall conform to Section 9- 03.9(3) crushed
surfacing base course (CSBC).
8 -24.3 ' Construction Requirements
8- 24.3(1) Quality Assurance
The completed modular block wall shall meet the following tolerances:
1. Wall batter shall be —3/4" per each course. (The width of the back lip.)
2. The exterior slope plane and grade in the finished surface of the wall shall
be within 0.05' in 20 feet of length.
8- 24.3(2) Excavation
The Contractor shall stake the location and elevation of the wall. Prior to excavation, the
contractor shall verify with the Engineer final grades and elevations so that the
completed modular block retaining wall shall fit proposed final grades. Excavation shall
be to the verified lines and grades.
8- 24.3(3) Leveling Pad
The leveling base pad shall have a minimum thickness of 4 inches and be compacted to
a minimum of 95% maximum of modified Proctor. The leveling pad shall be prepared to
insure full contact to the base surface of the modular block units.
8- 24.3(4) Modular Block Unit Installation
The first course of segmental concrete units shall be placed on the leveling pad and
checked for alignment and grade. Position vertically adjacent segmental concrete units
as recommended by the Manufacturer. Whole, or cut units shall be erected with running
bond approximately centered on units above and below. Cap units shall be glued to
underlying units with an adhesive recommended by the modular block unit manufacturer.
8- 24.3(5) Modular Block Unit Backfill
Wall backfill placement and compaction shall be completed in 4 Inch lifts after each
course is laid. Topsoil shall be placed over the backfill to match the cap rock elevation
as shown on the appropriate section in the plans.

8 -24.4 Measurement
Relay Modular Block Retaining Wall shall be measured by the relocated square foot of vertical
face.
8 -24.5 Payment
Payment will be made in accordance with Section 1 -04.1 for:
"Relay Modular Block Retaining Wall ", per square foot.
The unit contract price for "Relay Modular Block Retaining Wall ", per square foot shall
include the cost of construction staking; loading, haul and disposal of all excavation;
furnishing and installing leveling pad and backfill, removing, storing and re- installing
modular block units.
